Top 7 Tips for Clearer Skin

The Most Important Part of Your Skincare Routine
September 8, 2018

Whitehead. Blackhead. Pimples. Redness. Dryness.

The list goes on and on…

There’s nothing worse than another breakout

You feel like you’ve been taking care of your skin

You feel like it’s clearing up

And then it happens again

An endless cycle!

So what do you do?

New product, new treatment?

Nothing works.

Truth is

The simplest things are the most important

Here are my top tips for clearer skin.

1. Protect Yourself from the Sun

Cover up.

Sometimes the hat doesn’t look great

But Australia has the strongest Sun in the world!

Ultraviolet rays KILL skin cells

Use sunscreen 20 minutes before going out

Remember – there’s NO such thing as a good tan

2. Remove ALL Makeup

Sleeping with makeup can lead to breakouts

It mixes with dirt and oil on your skin

And causes clogged pores

Take your time to thoroughly cleanse

Soap and water is better than wipes

It removes the residue

Oil dissolves oil!

Don’t be afraid to use an oil cleanser

Always moisturise after removal

It keeps skin soft and hydrated

3. Sleep, Sleep & Sleep!

Sleep deprivation increases stress and inflammation

This causes acne and sensitivity

Leads to more collagen breaking down

Which is what makes your skin glow

Your immune system worsens

Leading to flare ups

Your body fails to balance hydration

Causing bags under your eyes

And your natural anti-aging stops

Try to get 8 hours of quality sleep

4. Drink Water

Water takes nutrients to your skin cells

It keeps the skin hydrated

Combats disorders

And eliminates redness

Try to drink 2L of water daily

That’s about eight cups total

5. Exercise!

Exercise increases blood flow

Blood carries nutrients around the skin

And also removes waste products.

But if you’re exercising outside

Make sure you wear sunscreen!

It’s best to exercise in a cool environment

To avoid overheating.

Overall, the risk of doing exercise is more

Than the risk of NOT doing exercise

Try to do at least 30 mins daily

6. Use Natural Products

Skin products with chemicals can be dangerous

Some are toxic and carcinogenic

Make sure you read the label

When purchasing skincare products

It shouldn’t read like a Science experiment!

Don’t be fooled by natural or organic labels

They don’t guarantee chemical-free.

7. Consult A Specialist

If your skin has ANY concerns at all

It’s best to consult a specialist as soon as possible

People are often afraid

And unsure of what to expect

But if you find the right person

It could change your life
